According to officials, The second round of a structural safety evaluation for 15 condominiums in Gurugram will start in April.

The focus of the future audit will be on locating structural flaws and suggesting solutions to fix them. The second phase of the audit will be carried out by the same organizations that handled the first phase. The most prevalent problems during the first phase included seepage in basements and flaking plaster on balconies.

Nishant Kumar Yadav, the deputy commissioner of Gurugram, met with representatives of the auditing firms and resident welfare organizations before issuing directions for the second round of the audit. Yadav made it clear that the four agencies chosen by the administration to conduct the structural audit would not be subject to interference from builders. Additionally, the builders will cover the fixed cost of the audit agency through the administration.

Bureau Veritas, TPC Technical Projects Consultants, Vintech Consultants, and NNC Design International were contracted by the district government to do a rapid visual assessment of almost 200 towers in 16 residential societies. Serious structural problems that can endanger the structures were not found during the initial audit. The bulk of flaws were restricted to difficulties with balconies, seepage, and water collection in basements, as well as plaster falling off walls.

After two individuals died in February when the floors of six flats at the Chintels Paradiso complex in Sector 109, building safety became a worry in Gurugram. After a part of Chintels Paradiso’s tower D collapsed in October and November, safety examinations were carried out. Residents of Chintels’ towers E and F were told to leave after two more were deemed structurally hazardous by the management.

The structural audits were carried out at Antriksh Heights (Sector 84), Brisk Lumbini Terrace Homes (Sector 109), Central Park 2 Bellevue (Sector 48), M3M Woodshire (Sector 107), Mapsko Casabella (Sector 82), Mapsko Paradise (Sector 83), Mapsko Royal Village (Sector 82), Paras Irene (Sector 70A), DLF Park Place (Sector 54), Raheja Vedanta (Sector 108), Signature Global Solera 1 (Sector 107), Spaze Privy (Sector 72), AIPL The Peaceful Homes (Sector 70A), Tulip Ivory (Sector 70), and Mahindra Aura (Sector 110A).
