The upcoming Yellow Line of Namma Metro will improve urban mobility in Bengaluru.

By July, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Company Limited plans to add another key line to the city’s Namma Metro network. The Yellow Line will run from RV Road in South Bengaluru to Bommasandra in the city’s southeast. The 19-kilometer corridor will connect to the future Pink Line (Gottigere-Nagawara) at Jayadeva Hospital and the Blue Line at Central Silk Board Station.

The majority of the work on the rails and stations has been done, and the final touches are being applied. According to reports, if the construction goes as planned, the line will be open by late July or early August.

This new Yellow Line will supplement the existing network, which includes corridors running north-south (Nagasandra-Silk Institute) and east-west (Byappanahalli-Kengeri). The Yellow Line would connect Ragigudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, Bommanahalli, Hongasandra, Kudlu Gate, Singasandra, Hosa Road, Beratena Agrahara, Konappana Agrahara, Electronic City, Huskuru Road, Hebbagodi, and Bommasandra to the Green Line at RV Road.

The majority of the Yellow Line rail alignment work has been done, but the stations must be ready for usage. The elevated line would extend for around 19 kilometres and will include the city’s first double-decker flyover, where a two-tier bridge will run for 3.3 kilometres from Ragigudda to Silk Board junction.

The Yellow Line will extend Bengaluru’s quick mass transportation network beyond the current North-South (Nagasandra-Silk Institute) and East-West (Byappanahalli-Kengeri) lines, improving urban mobility and public transportation.

TLDR:

By July, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Company Limited plans to add the Yellow Line, a new vital route connecting RV Road in South Bengaluru to Bommasandra in the city’s southeast, to the Namma Metro network. This 19-kilometer line will connect the future Pink Line (Gottigere-Nagawara) at Jayadeva Hospital with the Blue Line at Central Silk Board Station. If all goes as planned, the line should be operational by late July or early August. The line will expand Bengaluru’s existing mass rapid transit system and improve urban mobility and public transportation.
